This residence was designed for a retired U.S. Foreign Service official. Having spent much of her career in the Orient, she wanted her home to reflect an Asian theme. An open floor plan was developed in concert with Japanese detailing to create an exceptionally livable and functional home. The house is sited on a hillside overlooking Asheville, and the major interior and exterior spaces are arranged to take in the dramatic vista.
